My name is Sylvia. I've been a sommelier since 2003, passionate about wine and about passing it on.
My aim is to let you discover wine differently: the winemakers' stories, the terroirs, the growing methods. I want to give you the keys to taste for yourself — the three steps (sight, smell, taste), the aromas of the grape varieties, what sets one terroir apart from another. I work mainly with independent winemakers.
Every tasting comes with tapas chosen to match the wines, because food and wine pairing is, to me, an essential part of a sommelier’s craft. I want to show you how a dish can reveal a wine… and the other way round.
You'll find me at the Sierentz wine club, at the Université Populaire in Mulhouse, or in your own home — weekends and public holidays included. Workshops are held in French or in English, and the price adapts to the theme you'd like to explore.
My path took me from restaurants to teaching. I worked in many restaurants, notably at the Relais de la Magdeleine in Gémenos, near Aix-en-Provence, then in Paris, where I was a partner and co-manager of the restaurant Le Vin qui Chante, near the Opéra Garnier. I then moved to the United States, to New Jersey, where I started my own home wine-tasting business.
Based in Alsace since 2020, I wanted to deepen my knowledge by working right in the vines: first as a seasonal worker at Domaine Camille Braun in Orschwihr, then at Domaine Léon Boesch in Westhalten, a biodynamic estate, where I now work full time. Since 2025, I've also been a commissioner of the Concours des Jeunes Professionnels du Vin (CJPV) at the Paris International Agricultural Show.
Because wine is, above all, a story of sharing, of meeting people, and of pleasure.
